Happy Earth Day!

If you have not been following our resident inventor, Flat Leo, join us now as our cardboard ambassador, digitally designed by Larry, a fifth grade learner, helps us learn more about plastic recycling for Earth Day. While our learners are not able to go on field trips, Our resident inventor is exploring our community  and returning to school with tales of his adventures. This week, we have a very special episode. The mission was to complete a project Coach Hall’s Advisory started last school year. Our learners collected and sorted recyclable plastics in an effort to reuse plastic and keep it out of our trash bins. Partnering with the Precious Plastic organization at the University of Akron, our learners discovered different types of plastic and their uses. They also became curious about making useful products from recycled plastic such as filament for our 3D printers. As we were not able to visit the University of Akron campus, Flat Leo stepped up to help. The experience was captured in the attached link below.  Flat Leo is visiting locations all over the city of Akron to share exciting events and information. Stay tuned for our next episode from a mystery location in downtown Akron!
