During our visit to the Bath Nature Preserve, there were 5 stations that our learners rotated through. Learners were asked to choose their favorite station and give reasons why they liked it. Here are their stories:

Water Bug Station

By Gwendolyn

My favorite station at the Bath Nature Preserve was the water bug station.  One reason it is my favorite is that we talked about bugs that live in the water and what conditions they live in.  Another reason I enjoyed this station is that we were taught that certain bugs live in certain types of water and the types of bugs living in the water can show us if the water is safe or not.  The last reason I enjoyed this station is that we played a fun game to teach us about water bugs called the Macroinvertebrate Game. These are the reasons the waterbug station is my favorite at the Bath Nature Preserve.

The Wetlands

By Brooklyn

My favorite station at the Bath Nature Preserve was the Wetlands.  The first reason I liked that station is that we got to get really dirty and muddy.  We got to explore the wetland and what animals live in the water. Another reason I enjoyed this station is that we also got to use binoculars and look at all of the awesome things in nature.  At that time, I felt like a real scientist. The last reason is that we got dirty and explored all of the cool and interesting things made by nature. These are three reasons why I loved the trip to the Bath Nature Preserve.

The Nature Hike

By Gilana Hiking at Bath Nature Preserve

My favorite station at the Bath Nature Preserve was the Nature Hike.  The reason that was my favorite station is that we got to see the beautiful flowers and the different kinds of trees.  Another reason I enjoyed this station is that we got to see different birds’ nests and the birds. We got to see a blue jay along with some birdhouses.  The last reason I enjoyed being at this station is that it was kind of like a scavenger hunt because we had to find different things on our list. This is why the Nature Hike was my favorite station at the Bath Nature Preserve.

The Microscope Station

By Connor Learners Use Microscopes at Bath Nature Preserve

My favorite station at the Bath Nature Preserve was the Microscope Station.  The first reason this was my favorite station is that I have never really used a microscope.  I only got to use one when I was little, so using a microscope was really fun for me. Another reason I liked this station is that lots of things look different up close.  When I put a walnut under the microscope and looked at it I saw lots of little bridges and crevices. Lots of things look cool up close. My third and final reason is that using a microscope is really fun!  When we got in the room, I wanted to use the microscope as soon as I could. After a little bit of adjusting it was really fun.

The Fire Pit Station

By Cianna

My favorite station at the Bath Nature Preserve was the fire pit station.  The first reason this was my favorite station is we talked about how wetlands are important.  Another reason I enjoyed this station is we got to pull things out of a bag and talk about how they could be metaphors for a wetland. For example, a sponge shows how wetlands absorb water and help prevent flooding. The last reason I enjoyed being at this station as we got to participate as a whole group.  These are the reasons the Fire Pit station was my favorite station at the Bath Nature Preserve.
