Learners Celebrate Jean-Michel Basquiat

Akron Soul Train brought their program, "Like the Greats" to NIHF STEM on November 13th. The program focuses on a popular artist, in this case, Jean-Michel Basquiat, by teaching about his life and style and then guiding learners to create their own piece of art in his likeness. The program was presented by a University of Akron art student. Information about Basquiat's life was shared with the learners through a story. The presenter then showed them how he painted and what media he used. Learners from all grade levels participated. Akron Soul Train collected their masterpieces and is having them professionally matted for display in our school.
