Connecting Learning - Episode 4: Coach Rodgers

Sheneeka Rodgers is our extraordinary school counselor! She has won the respect of the NIHF-STEM staff with a unanimous selection as our building Teacher of the Year. Her dedication to learners and learning exemplifies her educational commitment to the success of each student. Our learners stayed connected to their STEM family even before our official first day of online learning occurred. Coach Rodgers scheduled Google Meet sessions with 7th-grade learners, facilitated daily Q & A sessions to allow learners to check in. Individual learners were able to request one-on-one meetings with the “Signup Genius” scheduling form. All of these individualized services gave learners the opportunity to inquire about what’s to come and share the new normal of their days. Sheneeka shared that she has had the chance to see the smiling faces of our learners and meet special pets like Sugar Pie the cat along the way. Her goal is to touch base with every single student and family. Her caring touch warms our hearts, brightens our soul, and inspires our minds!
