NIHF-ty News Node 2-Our Virtual Social Experiences

Welcome to the second edition of NIHF-ty News from our learner and learning coach teams. Our goal is to share the events and reflections with our STEM families. This week, the last week of the marking period, we would like to thank Will, Laila, Maddi, Ja’Quan, Robert, Jaylynay, Anthony, Griffin, and Bastian as we take a look at our school clubs and afterschool programming.

Lunch Bunch, facilitated by Coach Rodgers,  is a virtual lunch room that is a favorite of all of our learners. Learners may bring their lunch to socialize with friends and play games together while learning about how to navigate emotions in this new environment. Our learners have enjoyed virtual bingo, Gimkit, Kahoot, and Skribbl, a drawing word game. They are now making their own games and sharing them with friends and learning coaches.

After School organizations are up and running! There are so many opportunities with more yet to come. In this edition we will take a look at Inktober, D & D, Chess Team, and Chess Club. Find the one that’s right for you!

Inktober is an informal art experience for everyone! Daily prompts through the month of October give us the opportunity to share ideas and experiences. Check out this amazing gallery of work by learners and learning coaches at our school by clicking here!

Are you adventurous, bold and daring? Good at finding your way out of tricky situations? Skilled at solving puzzles? If you would like to explore new lands, discover long forgotten treasures, break curses and defend yourself from dangerous forces we are looking for you. Inquire here. A quest awaits you in D & D!

Chess is a STEM favorite and our learners embrace the opportunity to play and compete. We hone our skills and enjoy the challenge in two different clubs. The Chess Club is a grouping of learners who enjoy playing the game with others. Our Chess Team is composed of learners who have mastered the game of chess and prepare for tournaments within a league.

Join us for any of these events! For more information, visit our virtual bulletin board here.
