The Ohio K-12 Chinese Essay Contest is an annual competition for elementary, middle, and high school students from Ohio. During the competition, students compete by either composing an essay written in Chinese characters by hand on a selected topic. The contestants are judged by experienced Chinese language teachers. There were 270 students who participated in the Essay Contest in March from Ohio. We have fourteen 8th graders who were selected to participate in this contest. One of our learners took a gold award, eight received silver awards, and five received honorable mentions.
The University of Akron’s Confucius Institute also hosted a Chinese writing contest in the month of March. Seven 8th graders were selected to participate in The UA Chinese Essay Contest. We have first, second, and third place winners! We are so proud of our learners and their accomplishments in Chinese World Language! Congratulations also go out to Coach Liang, our Chinese teacher who works tirelessly with our learners to achieve academic excellence.
