Chinese World Language Culture Project
Posted on 12/06/2021

Learners in grades seven and eight at NIHF-STEM Middle School are learning Mandarin Chinese and the culture of saying thank to express gratitude beyond bowing or the basic 谢谢 (xiè xiè) Thank you. They recently completed a project in which they thanked their learning coaches (teachers) for their service in both English and Mandarin Chinese. The culmination of their work was shared in a school-wide presentation of a Mandarin thank you song. Here are the lyrics:

Give you a little heart ,

Here's a flower for you

You are in my life

Too much sensory activity

Lead me the way

The moon and the year turn into magic

Love you into a song

Listen. Thank you

Because of you

Four seasons

Thank thank you

 Thank with you

 The world is more beautiful

I want to thank you

 Because of you

Love is always at the bottom of the heart

Thank thank you

 Thank with you

Pass on good luck

Give you a little heart

Here's a flower for you

You are in my life

Too much sensory activity

 You're my angel

Lead me the way

The moon and the year turn into magic

Love you into a song

Listen. Thank you

 Because of you

Love is always at the bottom of the heart

Thank thank you

 Thank with you

Pass on good luck

Listen. Thank you

Because of you

Four seasons

Thank thank you

Thank with you

The world is more beautiful

I want to thank you

 Because of you

Love is always at the bottom of the heart

Thank thank you

 Thank with you

Pass on good luck

Thank thank you

Thank with you

The world is more beautiful
