Learning About Polymer Reuse

Coach Hall’s advisory has been very busy this year! Part of their time together is spent exploring a unique service-learning project. Learners have been discovering more about plastic polymers and how they impact daily life. The advisory has been working with the curriculum from the University of Akron to learn about plastic polymers. As part of their experience, they had an opportunity to learn more about how plastic is upcycled at the University of Akron. Dr. Eagan from The University of Akron's Precious Plastic program presented a lesson about plastic polymers. Advisory learners had hands-on experience identifying, separating, & exploring new ways to create, use, and recycle plastics. Our learners have been collecting plastics for the Precious Plastic program and will be sorting plastic that can be recycled in a donation to the University. We are so grateful to Dr. Eagan for this unique learning experience!
