On Mar 11, 2022learners and their learning coaches presented extended reality math lessons at the Kent State University Learning Innovations Conference Series: Transforming K-12 Education with XR Technologies. Their presentation titled XR-Math focused on learning geometry using both augmented and virtual reality. Learners and their coaches demonstrated how XR technologies can amplify deep learning for math providing demonstrations and hands-on opportunities with the XR tools they are using to support math learning including Merge Cubes, VIVE, Tilt Brush, Meta (Oculus) 2. Eighth graders shared their experiences in experimenting with lesson design as they created and tested lessons to teach geometry to their sixth-grade peers, who reflected on their learning and participation in the lessons. The students also shared their experiences in using XR technologies within the context of a makerspace model in which they learned the curricular concepts in class and then applied that learning in a digital fabrication lab with XR technologies.
