One of the first introductions to our Chinese World Language class culture is through the making of its cuisine. Preparing an ethnic recipe was a pronounced way to share the customs, traditions, and agricultural resources of China. Our learners embraced the harmony of food in Chinese culture in balancing the salty, spicy, sour, sweet, and bitter flavors creating delicious dishes that go well together. Great importance was also given to the texture and appearance of food preparation. Coach Liang, the Chinese Learning Coach from China at our school, is very proud of her cultural chefs!
