NIHF-STEM Family Poetry Jam

NIHF-STEM Family Poetry Jam
Posted on 04/28/2020
In honor of National Poetry Month, the NIHF-STEM learners, their families, and learning coaches are coming together to read poetry in a live Google Meet event. This event is a poetry reading in three parts.

The first part mirrors new lerning challenges in our first STEM school 2009-2010 with our current spring 2020 year. Veteran staff from our first year will read origianl poetry created by our learners in 2010. This will be followed up with original work by current learners.

Part two is a reding of favorite poetry by various authors to provide comfort, ingnite thought, or see the world in a new light. To conclude our event, poetry will be shared in three different languages to immerse our ears in the cultural rhythm of verse.

A published ebook of the event will be available to commemorate the event and time in which we are living. STEM families may find the link to this event on the Learning Commons Blackboard Announcement page under the NIHF-STEM Poetry Jam topic.

A special thanks to Emily Butler, our visual arts learning coach who designed the photo for the cover of our book!
