NIHF STEM Market Day

Market Day is back at STEM! This year our 5th graders under the direction of Dr. Pringle, our engineering learning coach, designed, tested, and marketed their own products. Students became familiar with the engineering design process as they developed their commodity and service.  Prototyping began in the school’s Invention Incubator space where students used recycled materials to build their products. Learners tested and presented their ideas to prospective student customers for feedback before mass production. Learners created solutions to problems with products like the earbud holders created by Mister. Other learners designed games with prizes and Rube Goldberg machines that generated your fortune. There were oodles of fun toys like and Xavier’s Sticky Bugs and Bouncy Bugs and Gavin’s Gliders. All of the STEM learners in the school earned citizenship dollars called STEM Gems to make purchases at Market Day. The STEM Gems currency was designed by Aubry. Our Market Day event was a major win!
