Wildlife SOS Presenation to LearnersThrough the generosity of the Akron Zoo, our 6th graders had the honor of listening to an inspiring presentation from Wildlife SOS.  This organization was established in 1995 and is based in New Delhi, India where they have dedicated themselves to rescuing and caring for animals who are mistreated or harmed by people.  They work to remove elephants from circuses and allow them to rehabilitate and spend their remaining days at a protected preserve where they are finally able to act like elephants. They also rescue baby bears from poachers and leopards who are often caught in snares set by hunters who want their fur.  Wildlife SOS works throughout the world to spread their message of protecting animals from those who mistreat or kill them. Many of the learners asked thoughtful questions and came away from the presentation inspired to follow their own passion.
